Mini Hoshi began not as a business idea, but as a heartfelt response to a moment every parent knows well: watching your child take their first swing, kick, or throw and realising the equipment in their hands isn’t built for them.
As new parents, Victoria and Andy found themselves frustrated by the lack of quality sports gear designed for young children. Everything felt like a toy, not a tool. It was either too flimsy, too generic, or too disconnected from the joy and potential of those early sporting moments. They wanted something better. Not just for their own children, but for every little one beginning their journey into movement.
With backgrounds rooted in education, product development, broadcasting, story-telling and a shared love for sport, they saw an opportunity to create something meaningful.
“Mini Hoshi was born from a desire to foster a lifelong love of physical activity, to help children build confidence through movement and to offer families a way to create lasting memories together” says Andy.
Victoria goes on to say “In a world increasingly dominated by screens and sedentary habits, we envisioned sport as a joyful antidote - a way to reconnect with our bodies, our families, and the outdoors.”
But Mini Hoshi isn’t just about equipment. It’s about storytelling.
From the beginning, Victoria and Andy imagined a brand built around a nostalgic character - one that would spark delight in children and resonate with parents. A character that could guide little ones through their first swings and putts, while reminding grown-ups of their own childhood adventures.

This playful figure became the heart of the brand, embodying the spirit of discovery, resilience, and joy.
Every product is designed with intention: real equipment that’s scaled for little hands, crafted to support learning, and infused with the magic of possibility. The brand identity reflects this balance - professional yet playful, educational yet emotionally rich.
“It’s about celebrating growth, honouring the small wins, and making space for wonder” says Andy.
Mini Hoshi is more than a brand. It’s a movement toward meaningful childhood experiences, where sport is not just an activity, but a way to connect, grow and shine.
Because every child deserves to feel like a star and every parent deserves to witness that light.
